Smart Assist AI and the cloud
Last updated
Smart Assist's AI features — AI-enhanced tag classification, deep observation analysis and the AI page designer — run on Scada.Ink Cloud. The non-AI parts of Smart Assist (device detection and rule-based classification) run on the appliance with no internet.
How requests travel
AI requests are sent from your browser, not from the appliance: the page gets the appliance's cloud address and license key, and the browser posts the request to the cloud over HTTPS. So an air-gapped appliance can still use AI, as long as the computer running the browser can reach cloud.scada.ink. Only deep analysis falls back to the appliance calling the cloud itself when the browser cannot. Details: How AI requests reach Scada.Ink Cloud.
What you need
- A license key on the appliance (the cloud identifies the account by it).
- A Smart Assist, Smart Assist Pro, Cloud Complete or Cloud Complete Pro plan. Deep analysis needs the Pro level.
- The appliance registered to your account, or its license bought by your account, so usage is counted against your plan.
