Dropdown, Text Input & Numeric Input

Last updated

Three controls that write one tag each. For several values that belong together, use a Form instead.

All three read their current value from the value binding — bind it to the same tag as Write Tag — and write a local tag or a device tag. A failed write shows a Write failed notification. Writing needs the operator, editor or admin role.

Pick from a list; the choice is written immediately.

SettingDescriptionDefault
Write TagThe local or device tagnone
Options (JSON)List of {"label", "value"} objectsOption 1 = "1", Option 2 = "2"
PlaceholderShown when the current value matches no option"Select..."

Edit the options as JSON; the box is saved when you click out of it and only if the JSON is valid:

json
[
  { "label": "Product A — 500 ml", "value": "101" },
  { "label": "Product B — 1 L", "value": "102" },
  { "label": "Cleaning cycle", "value": "900" }
]

The current value selects the option whose value matches it as text. Choosing the placeholder writes an empty value.

Text Input

SettingDescriptionDefault
Write TagThe local or device tagnone
PlaceholderGray hint in the empty fieldblank
Submit OnEnter key, Blur (leave field) or BothEnter key
  • The value is written only if you changed it.
  • While you are typing, live updates do not overwrite your text. After a write the field follows the tag again.
  • With Enter key, clicking away without pressing Enter leaves your text in the field unsent.

Numeric Input

A number box with − and + buttons.

SettingDescriptionDefault
Write TagThe local or device tagnone
Minimum / MaximumValues outside are clamped, without a messageno limit
StepWhat − and + add or subtract1
UnitShown inside the right end of the boxblank
Submit OnEnter key, Blur (leave field) or BothEnter key
  • − and + write immediately.
  • Typed values are written on Enter or blur as chosen; text that is not a number is ignored.
  • Clearing Minimum or Maximum removes that limit.
